"As a self-proclaimed coffee aficionado, I thought I knew it all—until Kyle guided us through a boutique farm where the growers treated each bean like gold. I left with a deeper appreciation for every step that goes into my morning cup. I’m telling all my friends: this is the ultimate education for any coffee lover."

Scott McGhee (Little Rock, AR)

"What I appreciated most was the care behind the tour - I felt very safe. I’m not a big hiker, but I am so glad the group encouraged me, because it was worth it. I loved the Airbnb because it felt more like a luxury retreat than a tour stop. I always felt safe and ate amazing food the whole time. Kyle did a great job I can’t recommend this enough!"

Rebecca Lowe (Las Vegas, NV)

GOOO! I 10/10 recommend! I’m not usually one for structured tours, but this was a blast every minute. Kyle and Aleja made it feel well organized, but still like an adventure at the same time - well balanced and not what I was expecting at all. The mountains, the food, the people, everything was great .

John Keith (Greenbrier, Arkansas)

"The highlight for me was discovering the history and traditions. Comuna 13 touched my heart. And I’d never heard of the game Tejo which was fun. These kind of things you cannot get back home. This trip showed me just how amazing Colombia is. Grateful for the experiences and people I met on this tour. I would do it again!"

is it safe? faq-arrow-icon

Absolutely! Your safety is our top priority. Every activity is carefully vetted and assessed for security. The tour is managed by an experienced (English-speaking) Colombian tour manager, with private drivers or certified guides for specific activities. Accommodations are always secure, located in gated or well-guarded facilities. We follow safety protocols to ensure a worry-free and memorable experience

The tour spans 5 full days. We kick off at 9:00 AM on Day 1 and conclude with the final activity by 9:00 PM on Day 5, ensuring you get the most out of every moment.

When / where should I arrive & depart? faq-arrow-icon

We recommend flying into Medellin (MDE) within 24 hours before Day 1 and departing within 24 hours after Day 5 to ensure a seamless experience. While you're welcome to extend your stay, airport pickup service is guaranteed only within this timeframe.

Do I need to book my own hotel? faq-arrow-icon

No, all hotels and lodging during the tour are reserved for you in advance. If you choose to extend your stay by arriving early or leaving late, you'll need to arrange your own accommodations. However, our tour manager is happy to assist with recommendations or bookings upon request

What type of activities will be be doing? faq-arrow-icon

Our tour includes a mix of activities designed to cater to different preferences. You'll enjoy a guided walking tour through the city, light uphill walking on coffee farms, and a hike through the stunning Valle de Cocora. While some activities require a moderate level of effort, we offer alternative options for those seeking a more leisurely experience, ensuring everyone can enjoy the journey at their own pace.

Whats the weather like on the tour? faq-arrow-icon

We’ll be in the central tropical mountains of Colombia, where the weather is a pleasant 65–75°F year-round. During the day, the sun can feel warm, making light clothing ideal, while the cool mountain breeze in the evening may have you reaching for a light jacket. Since there’s always a chance of light rain, we recommend bringing a rain jacket to stay prepared and comfortable.

What Makes Our Tours Unique

Curated by Blue Sail Coffee’s founder, Kyle—whose longstanding relationships with Colombia’s boutique growers grant exclusive access to farms off the typical tourist path—our tour immerses you in the world of truly artisanal coffee. Instead of a common, commercialized plantation visit, you’ll experience award-winning specialty beans, meet the farmers themselves, and witness their meticulous processes firsthand.

What sets us further apart is the contrast of environments we show you.
